Running a business was something Sara Davies always wanted to do. Her parents owned and ran a business for 30 years and it was a huge part of their family’s lives. In 2005 she followed in her parents’ footsteps and founded Crafter’s Companion while studying at university. Sara’s husband Simon joined the business in 2007.
Now, Crafter’s Companion is a multi-million-pound international crafting empire that designs and sells creative products from its UK headquarters in the North East, and from its US office in California to more than 40 countries across Europe, Asia, South Africa, Australia and North and South America.
Crafter’s Companion joined the Growth Partner family in 2015. Richard’s research of the crafting market identified Sara and Simon’s business and after a short courtship, Growth Partner acquired a minority shareholding and began the journey of building the business with our support.

Sarah and Simon have built an amazing brand with incredible equity, as manifested by their passionately loyal customers, and their exponential growth.
They are true omni-channel innovators and marketeers, through their own e-commerce websites, third party TV shopping networks, wholesale (to big box and small independent retail), online marketplaces and owned digital streaming e-commerce channels operated through ‘Crafters TV’, Facebook, and YouTube, filmed from its own state of the art recording studios at head office.
They know that face-to-face engagement with the craft community, their community, is critical and they do this through their digital and TV channels.
And it’s this relationship with its customers that is a key driver of success and is at the heart of its strategy – focused on creating high quality, innovative products that encourage brand loyalty (resulting in repeat purchases) and give a unique customer experience.
The crafting market in the UK, US, and in other markets is buoyant, and the opportunities for Crafter’s Companion to grow organically in its existing, and new markets are significant.
The brand is also considering opportunities to grow by acquisition, to help expand its international presence and product ranges, on the back of the success of its acquisition of well-known US storage brand, Totally Tiffany in April 2020.
